Take a look, it's in a book

I recently got an invite to an interesting blog series written by George Eberhart of the American Library Association. His current series is a listing of reportedly haunted libraries in the United States. (None for Louisiana, but three in Oregon.) Some are mundane, some are creepy, some are pretty scary. Is your local library listed?

On another note, I've set up shop in Eugene, Oregon. We moved into our apartment a week ago, P already has a job and I've got an interview Tuesday, so wish me luck. As I get settled in and explore what the area has to offer, I hope to start some projects here inspired by the amazing writing community in Shreveport.

Speaking of, have all you Shreveport poets set up a page on Everett Webb's Poet's Registry? Everett has taken over Red River Ink and combined it with other resources, including the Registry and his own Topcat Live. Go have a look at what he has to offer.

I keep planning to catch up on all your blogs. Please forgive me if it takes me a while. After a month travelling the country and a week trying to get established north of the Mason-Dixon, I think I finally have time for some reading.

Miss you guys!

Good luck on the interview. That can be hard. Having moved to FL last year I remember it well. thankfully, just like you, my fiancee got a job right off the bat. Took me a little while, but we scraped by in the meantime.

I love that area of Oregon, though. Enjoy it!

I got the one I wanted. I think we're off to a pretty good start up here.

Congrats Jane! Moving across country and starting over had to have been incredibly stressful. Glad to hear it's working out!

Haunted libraries sound interesting. I'll have to see if there are any in Ohio. Reminds me of the scene in the original Ghostbusters... "Get her!"

Congratulations Jane! Sounds like you're well on your way to settling in up there. I'm actually a little jealous that you're living in Oregon. I'll tell you what...I'll swap places with you once or twice a year and you can have a Florida vacation. lol

Ok, I am a little confused. Apparently I missed something, but I thought you were moving to Roswell. Mind you, I did wonder why you were moving there since there are no jobs to speak of. I don't know if you know Regan Lee, her blog is the Orange Orb, but she also lives in Eugene. Too wet or humid for me, but knowing two awesome people live there makes me think I should move.:-)

I have family in Roswell and have always loved the area. But we spent a week there and were really disappointed... so we were sitting on my grandmother's back porch drinking rum and cokes one night and came up with a brilliant idea to sell all our shit and just travel for a month. And then we actually did it like a couple of crazy people.

We ended up in Eugene because we have family nearby, friends on the way, and love the land and the political atmosphere. And things are working out pretty well for us here. Regan introduced herself by email. I'd read her blog but had no idea she was in Eugene. I hope I can meet up with her irl soon.

The weather's gonna take me some getting used too, for sure! So far it's not too cold, and it's a lot less humid than Louisiana, but I don't know how I'll feel once we get into the real winter.
